Ulan Ude Travelers House is the only centrally located and Lonely Planet's TOP CHOICE hostel with everything a tourist needs on a TransSiberian track. Perfect location gives you just a 5-10 min walk from the transsib train station and less than a minute to the main sights of the city. It's very convenient to get to all transport spots - train station, bus stop for Mongolia and transport to lake Baikal. The whole historical and cultural center is a short walk distance (or should I say - in a stone's throw distance). There are a number of banks, atms, shops, cafes and bars around our place.

Our spacious common room has a comfortable sofa, chairs, information desk, maps, etc. Our guest kitchen has all utensils and equipment to cook home food + we have a tiny iMicrobar ;) All of above, comfortable beds and a hot shower will serve you as the best base for your exploring.

What our customer say about us

Since 2011 we accommodated more than 3000 friends - we all become friends, don't we. Most of them are more than happy to stay and some of our guests write their reviews.

Robert Gavick "A real gem in the small city of Ulan Ude, it was a great place to meet other travellers, you might think it's a bit small but facilities are adequate, it has a really homey feeling and the owner was very friendly to us travellers. If I was going back to Ulan Ude I would stay there again".
Paulina Nowakowska "This is a wonderful hostel. Its right in the city centre and close to everything you need. Its literally only 10 mins walk from the train station. I picked up one of the hostel cards at another hostel in Irkutsk. The card is really cool it has a little map on it to show you how to walk from the train station which is easy to follow and a wonderful idea. Great job. Also Denis the owner speaks really good english and is a wonderful host. He will help you with any excursions".
Tomasz Dziuda "The Hostel was really easy to find and in a great location. All of the staff were extra helpful and friendly and there was a really good community feeling in the whole place. Rooms were spacious and clean and the information given for tours and eating out was great! Thank you!"

How to get to Mongolia from Ulan-Ude

Because we have a lot of questions on how to get to Ulaan-Baatar, here the answers are.

Hello, hola, hallo, moi, salud, shalom, sainbainuu, hi or just Preevet!

My name is Denis, I’m the owner of this hostel. I hope you are all fine and good in the middle of your fantastic trip or just scraping the top of the iceberg of preparation for your trip.

Who we are

We are a small (by now) local family consisting of me and my wife Marina. I belong to Buryat ethnicity which you might have not even heard of and my wife is mostly Russian (the siberians are usually the mix of nationalities). I've been working as a tour guide in Baikal area and whole Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian since 2006.

Why we do it

We all share one passion – to TRAVEL and the idea to open this hostel appeared in our travels. When we needed something we thought “hey, it would be useful if a hostel had it” and we felt that we can do something special in Ulan-Ude for travellers like us. Our goal is to facilitate you to have the smoothest and best possible experience of Trans-Siberian trip so you would recommend your friends to come to Siberia ;)

How we do it

Our english-speaking staff will help you with everything you need and will answer all your questions (or just chat with you). Please make friends with them, it’s partly the reason why they work here ;)
Leave us the problems to think where to go. We will give you all the information on what to do around our city and region.
